Overview of Services

The Human Edit offers professional book translation, proofreading, editing, and other related services.
Services are provided on a project-based basis, subject to the scope, timeline, and remuneration agreed individually with each client.

Payment Details

Payment Methods: Credit card, bank transfer, PayPal, or other methods as agreed.
Payment Platforms: Online banking, Stripe or other payment processors as applicable.

Payment Amount and Due Dates:

  1. Payment amounts vary per client depending on the agreed scope of work.

  2. All fees and payment milestones are defined in the applicable service agreement or invoice.

  3. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due in accordance with the terms set out in the relevant contract or invoice.

Deposits and Final Payment:

  1. Where applicable, a deposit may be required upon contract signing.

  2. The remaining balance shall be due upon delivery of the agreed services or as otherwise specified in the contract.

Initial Charges and Fees

No setup fees apply unless expressly stated in the individual service agreement.

Authorization and Consent

By agreeing to these terms and conditions, the customer authorizes Transcre8 OÜ to process payments in accordance with the agreed contractual terms and any issued invoices.

Consent for payment processing is deemed given through the execution of a written agreement, acceptance of an invoice, or other explicit confirmation of services.

Changes and Modifications

Payment terms are fixed as agreed in the applicable contract or invoice and may not be modified or deferred unless expressly agreed in writing by both parties.

Customers may request to settle any outstanding balance in full at any time.

Any changes to payment-related terms will be communicated via email or other agreed means.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation: Customers can cancel and request a refund of the down payment if the project has not commenced

Refunds

In accordance with § 655(1) of the Estonian Law of Obligations Act.  A customer has the right to cancel a contract for services at any time. If the customer has cancelled the contract for services, the contractor has the right to demand payment of the agreed remuneration from which the savings made by the contractor due to the cancellation of the contract and anything which the contractor obtained or could reasonably have obtained by using the labour force thereof for different purposes are deducted.

Late Payments and Defaults

  1. Late Payment Rate: The daily late payment rate is 0,083% of the amount not paid on time.

  2. Default Actions: Transcre8 reserves the right to pursue legal action in case of payment defaults as per Estonian law.

Customer Responsibilities

  1. Maintain up-to-date payment information.

  2. Notify Transcre8 of any payment issues via email or in writing.

Dispute Resolution

  1. Transcre8 will attempt to resolve disputes directly with the customer. If unresolved, legal action may be pursued.

  2. Governing Law: All agreements are governed by Estonian law.

  3. Jurisdiction: Disputes shall be resolved by Harju County Court. In the case of a consumer, disputes may, at the consumer’s request, be resolved by the courts of the consumer’s place of residence.

GDPR Compliance

  1. Transcre8 processes the user’s personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Taxes

  1. “Tax” or “Taxes” refers to all applicable taxes, including but not limited to indirect taxes such as goods and services tax (“GST”), value added tax (“VAT”), sales tax, fees, duties, levies, or other similar taxes.

  2. Unless otherwise stated, all prices, fees, and other amounts are exclusive of Taxes.

  3. If any payment due to The Human Edit is subject to taxes, The Human Edit will collect the full amount of those Taxes from the customer. This collection does not reduce the amount owed to The Human Edit.

  4. Customers must pay any applicable Taxes and will reimburse and indemnify The Human Edit for any Taxes, interest, and penalties that The Human Edit may have to pay due to the customer's non-payment.

  5. Any withholding or similar tax on payments to The Human Edit is the sole responsibility of the customer and does not reduce the amount owed to The Human Edit.

  6. Customers will indemnify and hold The Human Edit harmless against any claims by tax authorities related to withholding or similar taxes and any associated penalties or interest.
